About Nathalie

I have been an osteopath for over ten years, having trained at the Collège d’Études Ostéopathiques in Montreal, where I gained a solid expertise in the care of the human body. Passionate about how the body functions and its ability to self-regulate, I approach each client holistically, viewing the body as a whole, with each system interconnected. My practice is characterized by a gentle and respectful approach, aiming to harmonize the various bodily functions to improve overall well-being.

Before fully committing to osteopathy, I began my career in massage therapy nearly 25 years ago, which allowed me to develop a keen tactile sensitivity and a deep understanding of my client’s needs. Today, I work with individuals of all ages, from newborns just a few days old to people up to 99 years old, adapting my techniques and treatments to each stage of life. Whether it’s to relieve chronic pain, restore mobility, or support specific conditions, I offer a personalized and tailored approach.

With a desire to provide comprehensive care, I regularly pursue additional training in areas such as yoga, physical training, nutrition, and many more. This allows my clients to benefit from a holistic approach that takes into account all aspects of their physical and emotional health.

Each session with me is an invitation to reconnect with one’s body through a process of gentleness and listening. My goal is to guide each person towards physical balance and a better quality of life by offering respectful, personalized care based on a global approach to well-being.

About osteopathy

Osteopathy is a form of healthcare that emphasizes the interrelationship between the structure and function of the body. It is based on the belief that the body has an innate ability to heal itself. Osteopathy involves treating, and preventing a wide range of health issues through hands-on techniques and a holistic approach to well-being.

Here are key aspects of osteopathy:

Holistic Approach: Osteopathy considers the whole body when addressing health issues, not just isolated symptoms. It focuses on how different systems of the body—muscles, bones, nerves, and organs—work together.

Manual Therapy: A central part of osteopathy is manual therapy, which uses hands-on techniques like stretching, pressure, to relieve pain, improve function, and encourage healing.

Focus on the Musculoskeletal System: Osteopaths pay special attention to the bones, muscles, joints, and connective tissues, as they believe the alignment and movement of the body’s structure affect overall health.

Self-Healing: Osteopathy is based on the idea that the body has the inherent ability to heal itself, and osteopathic treatments aim to restore balance and function, supporting this natural healing process.

Prevention and Wellness: Osteopathy not only treats existing conditions but also focuses on preventive care, promoting healthy lifestyle choices and movement patterns to prevent future issues.

Conditions Treated: Common issues treated by osteopathy include back pain, joint pain, postural problems, sports injuries, headaches, and digestive problems.

THE BENEFITS OF osteopathy

Osteopathy offers several benefits, especially for those experiencing musculoskeletal problems, though its holistic approach can have positive effects on overall health and well-being.

Overall, osteopathy’s client-centered approach promotes a healthier, more balanced lifestyle, supporting not only physical well-being but also mental and emotional health.

CONDITIONS TREATED WITH osteopathy

Osteopathy is particularly effective in treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, though its holistic approach allows it to address issues affecting various parts of the body. Here are some common conditions treated with osteopathy:

Osteopathy can be beneficial for infants from their first days of life. It can help with breastfeeding difficulties, digestive issues, neck tension that may lead to a preference for a certain position, torticollis, or flat head, by releasing tension in the muscles and fascias.

Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction, which can cause jaw pain and headaches, may be relieved through manual therapy of the jaw and upper spine.

Poor posture can cause musculoskeletal problems, including pain in the back, neck, and shoulders. Osteopathy helps correct postural imbalances and retrains the body to maintain a healthy, balanced posture.
